HOT STUFF ON THE HORIZON

Hi everyone. So! News. Razzle dazzle. Goings on. Generally things  that don't apply to me but I've got some hot stuff on the horizon.....

My aunt Joan is moving in with us, she's almost 81, a Virgo, smart as a whip and funny as heck. I try to swear less when she's around so moving in with us is a win win in many ways.

Also, we have another new addition to our family- a rescue husky named Phoenix. This is all a big change because of the dog. My aunt is self sufficient, the dog however is needy, and the other dog Spencer is harbouring some resentment.

Lucky the cat is unhappy about everyone and wishes we would all just move out of her house and occasionally show up to feed her.

So, three animals, an elderly relative, two teenagers and a handsome husband who is very busy. It's like I never want to leave my house again.

I do get to yell at people several times a week and they pay me for this. I have done this at home and no one pays me. I find that if I dress up, comb my hair and yell to music, the money shows up.

Speaking of yelling at people, Kevin Clifford of True North and the NHL folks have invited me to sing the Canadian anthem at the Jets/Oilers alumni game on October 22 at Investors field which is where the Blue Bombers play now. It will be outdoors which is exciting but also cold as I have to wear the red dress and probably not my Sorrell boots and deep woods parka overtop. I'm also a little nervous because I know there is a changed sentence in the anthem and I'm not sure what it is. The last time that happened was when I sang the Canadian anthem in half French half English for a Thrashers/Montreal game and forgot a few French words. I cleverly inserted "Pepe Le Peu la croix" instead of "Il sait porter la croix."  That's not a happy memory. It's not in my top five embarrassing things I've done though, that's for another post.

I'm looking forward to seeing the team, my family and friends and Manitoba. Maybe I'll see you there.

Cheers,

Jennifer
