Norman has been professionally active in music and sound for over twenty-five years. He worked initially as a keyboardist/arranger in Manitoba, then for five years in Montreal, where he got his start in the recording studio. Upon his return to Manitoba in 1979, he became increasingly involved in composition and studio production. Since 1986, he has also worked internationally as a location recordist in the film industry, while remaining active in studio production and music composition. Winner of a 1998 Gémeaux (Gemini) award for Best Overall Sound, he currently owns a multitrack recording studio (analog/digital) including ProTools Mix Plus, with an elaborate array of microphones and processing equipment, as well as a time-code documentary recording equipment package. Any other specialized equipment can be accessed when required, for studio or remote production.
